Residential and commercial buildings are responsible for roughly 25% of California’s greenhouse gas emissions when accounting for fossil fuels consumed onsite and electricity demand. 

To achieve California’s climate protection targets and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 40 percent below 1990 levels by 2030, new solutions in all areas of life are required, including urban development. Green hydrogen has the potential to bolster the renewable energy sector.

Green Hydrogen, a zero-emission fuel produced from renewable resources like solar, wind, or biomass, is abundant in California. According to its advocates, it could heat homes and power the next generation of gas appliances cleanly and efficiently.
